Mystic Valley Voices

CAMPAIGN & STRATEGY DESIGN

Mystic Valley Regional Charter School started making headlines in the late 2010's—notably for racist policies strictly limiting Black cultural hairstyles, religious persecution of Muslim students, and withholding public records.

I partnered with a group of Mystic Valley alumni to create an online campaign that would build a legal case against the school and help create a platform for solidarity among students, alumni, and community alike.

SOCIAL MEDIA DESIGN

We drew attention to our cause via social media—relaying the many horrifying stories of students who had directly experienced the racist culture of MVCRS.

Ultimately, we worked alongside the Attorney General to catalogue these incredibly emotional stories and validate them.

Some even consented for us to share these account on social media to better highlight this important conversation.

A large group of Massachusetts senators drafted a letter to the school to confront those responsible.

For a while, it seemed as though real change was happening.

However, the school continues to make the news for their backwards policies stemming from their racist manifesto. The community even now works to hold the perpetrators accountable.
